Hard Cider made from apples you juiced yourself at home. Easier than you think! Here's the recipe & instructions & most of this you already have at home!

I'm new to the Homebrewing scene and boy am I having the time of my life. Who would of thought that making your own beer & alcohol could be so much fun! Its like science class all over again, except way more interesting!
I wanted to test my home brewed Hard Cider before writing this blog so this is my 2nd batch. I've enjoyed it so much that I've been hiding it at the back of the refrigerator so no one else in the family can get their hands on it - its that good!!!
2 gallons (7 litres) apple cider without preservatives (2kg/4,4 lbs apples gives 1 litre juice)
3-5 cups (24-32 ounces) brown sugar
2 cinnamon sticks, 6 whole cloves (good for the holidays) 20 raisins.
1 package Cider Yeast / or typical bakers yeast
STEP 1: Juice your apples (or buy 100% pure apple cider) and pour into your fermentation bottle
STEP 2: Add sugar, raisins, yeast (cinnamon & cloves if you want it spicy) and mix it about
STEP 3: Add your airlock and place in a cool, dry location. It should take about 4-6 weeks to ferment. When it stops bubbling out your airlock its time to bottle.
STEP 4: Take care when bottling that you don't get the apple foam in your bottle. I used a sieve to strain the hard cider into my bottles. You can use Plastic Soda bottles. Leave a little room at the top of the bottle when bottling.
STEP 5: To cold crash your cider place bottle in a refrigerator and in a day or 2 you should see the cider clear and the yeast fall to the bottom.
Make Your Own Airlock
Check out the airlock I made myself on my video below. A simple old pen or hollow piece of plastic that you can insert through a bottle cap and seal with glue will work. Then add a tube/hose into a jar filled with water. Poke some holes into the jar lid and voila!
